I grew up locally and moved back with my husband Nick, 2 daughters, Noelle & Nora, and our miniature dachshund, Abby.

Why did you choose dentistry?
I have always known that I would work in health care and the dental field was something that interested me from a very young age. The oral and systemic/body connection is so fascinating to me. It is a privilege to educate patients about their oral health.

What is the best part of your job?
Treating patients that feel like they have become family members to us! I also love seeing the improvements and results after a patient has surgery with Dr Silc, or scaling & root planing with our hygiene team.

What aspect of your personality adds the most value to the office?
I am always empathetic to how a patient is feeling and what they may be experiencing in their personal life. Many patients also have dental anxiety or fears that I am able to help put at ease. Sometimes they may struggle with seeing anyone else and I take that as the greatest compliment.

What do you do outside of the office?
I love traveling with my family, being active (cycling, yoga, etc.) as often as possible, and lots or reading!

Olga

Dental Hygienist

Originally from Russia, I moved to the US in 2010. Starting fresh, I decided to try myself in the dental field. In August 2010 I enrolled in the Dental Assisting Program at Elgin Community College and later graduated from it with honors. For the next several years I continued working as a dental assistant in both general and specialty practices. Inspired by my team members to make a difference in people’s oral health, I decided to pursue a dental hygiene career. In May 2019 I graduated from William Rainey Harper College, but my education does not stop there. I strive to further my knowledge of dentistry through continuing education classes in order to provide the best care possible to my patients.

Why did you choose dentistry?
I have always been fascinated by dentistry, but what solidified my decision to pursue it as my career was the fact that I myself had to receive extensive treatment over the years. Finally, I was determined to find out the source of my problems and what lies beyond simple brushing and flossing.

What is the best part of your job?
The best part of my job is knowing that I was able to help somebody make a step towards healthier and happier self.

What aspect of your personality adds the most value to the office?
Being grateful and appreciative to my team members make our days smoother and more enjoyable.

What do you do outside of the office?
I like to spend my free time travelling, hiking, reading or simply enjoying quiet time with my husband, son, dog and cat.

What is one item on your bucket list?
My personal philosophy is to live life to the fullest. I try to travel and expose myself to different countries and cultures as much as possible. I hope one day to see glaciers of Iceland, baobab trees of Madagascar and astonishing architecture of Europe.

Why did you choose dentistry?
My cousin worked at a dental office and had asked me if I was interested in helping out as a dental assistant. I really enjoyed working there, so after 1 year I moved to an office closer to my home. And then after finishing my own orthodontic treatment, I was motivated to help others the same way.

What is the best part of your job?
Knowing that I did my very best to help patients be as comfortable as they can be during their visit at the office and know they will leave with a smile on their face!
